Readers are reminded that an arrest by the police does not constitute a finding of guilt and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. ARRESTS 12/27/2024 (24-16680) Driving Under the Influence – Alcohol Dempster / Edens Expressway The offender was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Court date: 01/21/2025 Suspect: Martinez, Eddy R., M/U, 10/14/1982, 42, 5000 block of Oakley Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 12/28/2024 (24-16715) Accident – Hit-and-Run Central Avenue and Lake Street The suspect left the scene after causing an accident. Officers located the suspect vehicle and driver. The suspect was later arrested after the victim/complainant wished to sign complaints. Court date: 01/13/2024 Suspect: Palomino, Victor, M/H, 12/16/2002, 22, 2400 block of Greenfield Drive, Glenview, Illinois 12/29/2024 (24-16776) Disorderly Conduct 9400 block of Oliphant Avenue Officers responded to the area for the report of the suspect yelling about someone being in her yard with a gun. Upon arrival, officers heard the suspect from several houses away. Officers spoke to the complainant and another resident in the 9400 block of Merrill Avenue who provided corroborating statements. Suspect was issued citations for disorderly conduct Suspect: Sarkis, Susan, F/W, 11/30/1968, 56, 9400 block of Merrill Avenue, Morton Grove, Illinois 01/01/2025 (25-00003) Possession of Cannabis Dempster Street and Narragansett Avenue The suspect was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of suspect cannabis. The suspect was issued a citation for the violation and the possession of cannabis. Suspect: Wells, Antione L., M/B, 07/07/2002, 22, 9400 block of Bay Colony Drive, Des Plaines, Illinois MISCELLANEOUS 01/02/2025 (25-00036) Criminal Damage 5700 block of Dempster Street Unknown offender(s) threw a brick at a window, causing damage to said window. The offender(s) were unable to make entry into the building. 01/04/2025 (25-00116) Theft from Motor Vehicle 9100 block of Luna Avenue Theft of catalytic converter from victim’s vehicle sometime between 12/22/2024 and 01/04/2025. 12/26/2024 (24-16636) Commercial Burglary 9200 block of Waukegan Road Offender(s) broke the front glass door and entered the business where miscellaneous bottles of alcohol were taken. At the time of this report, it’s unknown what else was stolen. 12/22/2024 (24-16676) Burglary from Motor Vehicle 7900 block of Beckwith Road On an unknown date and time, the victim’s vehicle was rummaged through by an unknown offender. Taken was a passport and a checkbook. The victim was believed to have left the car unlocked overnight as there were no reports of forced entry. 12/29/2024 (24-16758) Commercial Burglary 5800 block of Dempster Street The front window was shattered and multiple products for sale were stolen along with the cash register. 01/01/2025 (25-0006) Stolen Vehicle 6100 block of Elm Street The victim rented a vehicle which was stolen while she attended a house party. No suspect information was available. 01/01/2025 (25-00022) Theft 6100 block of Mayfair Street Unknown offender(s) stole a package from the front porch. Contents of said packages are unknown at this time. 01/02/2025 (25-00043) Theft 7300 block of Dempster Street Complainant locked his belongings inside a locker and returned to find that his lock had been tampered with. Complainant discovered approximately $800-$900 USD missing from his wallet. 01/01/2025 (25-00050) Theft 6100 block of Mayfair Street Continuation of report 25-00022 listed above. Unknown offender(s) stole a package from the front porch. Contents of said package are unknown at this time. 01/03/2025 (25-00082) Fraud 9500 block of Harlem Avenue The victim lost $100,000 USC in a money transfer to a Bitcoin application called “Kadeval” and another $22,000 USC bank loan. No suspect information was available.
